The food is good but not up to the 3 stars level. Their cooking style is old, lacks innovation and did loose identity. In other words, the sashimi lacked luster and many of the served dishes were nothing but nicely presented fish in gel. We expected tuna, like a small piece :(. Desert was not better and the quality of served tea is way below expectations. From another perspective two dishes stood. Like we’re impressive, the first was the rice cake miso soup. This was an exceptional one and the fried fish that they would transfer the skin and bones into soup. Simplest and most powerful dishes representing the old school of Kyoto cooking culture. We expected more of that and got only two...ah, and the mackerel was also good. Would we repeat the visit; no. Would we have avoided the experience, the answer is no as well
Morethe best past experience in a restaurant of my whole life! From the outside it is already clear from seeing the wood worn out over time, that there will be something magical waiting for you. Unmatched hospitality, a detailed kitchen with a delicate but decisive hand. Account commensurate with experience, indeed if it were higher it would be worth the same. We ended the experience with an exchange of views with Mr. Nakamura himself and his mother. Love itPs Kaiseki cuisine
MoreA truly beautiful and unique experience. Highly recommend!
Great service and private room, but good was not up to the expectation. Every course tasted the same.
MoreHaving been to dozens of 3 michelin stars in the world and many starred japanese restaurant i certainly dont think this one was up to the 3 stars level
MoreUnforgettable experience. Food was a mix of traditional soups, sashimi, and japanese dishes.
More(Maybe) I took out a bento for a limited time.Plenty of spring wild plants. It was very delicious.
MoreDelightful food and service. Had Christmas dinner here. It was a kaiseki meal with 14 courses. One after another, each unique and delicious. Definitely a splurge but worth it.
Moredelicious food!
Yu was a great server! Loved the private room and service. As a North American used to moving along quickly so took a bit to get used to getting time to enjoy the meal and my wife's company... But wish more restaurants in North America give you time to enjoy. Food was good too, many new dishes to try and experience. Most memorable dish was the white miso soup. Everything was good but that stands out.
MoreAbsolutely mind blowing. Creative, delicious, beautiful, complex, balanced dishes. If you can, go.
